    • 1.The leniage

    Getting an intimate knowledge of me & my familiar ties with a word on our customs would be a good start.

    General
    We belong to the Hindu community, evolved through centuries of nature worship, which compose the majority of the Indian population. Being catholic in disposition, almost every other faith has been welcomed and nurtured here.  The communal harmony is unrivalled and as in geographical features, cultures, languages, have given rise to the apt cliché “Unity in Diversity”.

    We are part of the Nair commune, who were traditionally the able warriors and the trusted custodians of the land, in the hierrachy. Legendary loyalty was their claim to fame.

    The architecture of Kerala before the advent of the modern method kept in mind the climatic variations here. The ancient Vasthu Sasthra dictated the framework for constructions. By enjoining the worship of flora and fauna- still prevalent through the kavu or the sacred groves - environmentalism  was in its germ. With slopping roofs to ward off the torrential rains, the aristocrats built single to double storey four sided houses called naalukettu enclosing an open courtyard
    or nadumuttam. The more affluent built this with two coutyards forming a ettukettu. This housed large joint-families which was the dominant system then.

    The family stucture was based on Matriarchal succession. Nephews took over the mantle of the family from their Uncles as Karanavar or The elder.

    The marriage practice, which survives still today, is through ‘arranged consent’. Getting the approval of other family members before the bridegoom gets to know the bride strenghthen the bond between them and their in-laws as here the
    family ties are stronger.
     

    Parents
    My parents come from the old family set-up and have respectable educational background . In fact, Kerala is comparable to western nations in Literacy level. My father  Mr. P. Prabhakaran Nair, occupied a prime post in Government service and my mother Mrs. N. Lalitha Bai, is a teacher by profession. Both are now happily retired, passing on their invaluable wisdom to their grand children.
    My paternal grandfather was a headmaster and has eight children in as whereas my maternal grandfather has four.
    My mother has a strain of Illam Nairs. Her own father was a landlord of standing; she and my father were first cousins- Murappennu & Muracherukkan.

    Large families were the norm them residing in large joint family groups each of their sibling are carried and happily settled
    elsewhere.
     

    Eldest Brother-in-Law
    My eldest brother in law- Mr. J. Mohanan Nair, whose father served in the police department, comes from family of four children. He is bank employee, as my eldest sister- Mrs. Sreekala Devi P.L., is a teacher and their love daughter Miss. Greeshma M.S.,  is a school student.

    Elder Brother-in-Law
    My elder brother in law Mr. K.S. Prabhukumar., is with Indian railways, the largest employer in the world. His father worked in the Public works department, their mother was a teacher and they too were four strong. My elder sister Mrs. Sreelatha Devi P.L., too is a teacher and their elder daughter Miss. Priyanka .S. Prabhu,  is in school while the twins Master Abhijith and Abhishek, younger to her are the youngest of the family.

    Younger Brother-in-Law
    My younger brother in law's- Mr. Ravikumar. C., father was in Malaysia. One of four children he is an engineer working with the IndianSpace Research Organization, My sister- Mrs. Sreeja Rani P.L.,  is a bank employee and their only daughter Miss Lakshmi Priya, is in the UKG.

    Father-in-Law
    As regards my father in law Mr. Velappan Nair, he was an army captain, who saw active service and had won the prestigious Presidents medal for meritorious service twice in his tenure. And my wife’s mother Mrs. Indira Bai,  is a teacher, The only sister Miss. Chitra Lekha,  of my wife is an aerodrome assistant with the Airport Authority of India.

    MySelf
    I am the third of the four children and the only son. Everyone is duly married and except me, are proud parents themselves. Though constrained in a nuclear family, traces of joint-family still exist, with us sharing the common premises.
    Each of my sisters and brothers-in-law is employed in reputable capacity. Their adorable children enjoy the warmth of affection and attention.
    I myself am a new householder with the elder daughter from a distinguished family as my ‘better-half’. She Mrs. Indu Lekha, and her younger sister vie with each other in academic distinctions. As for myself, my work will stand for my competence.

    What is an Illam?
    Not so long ago the whole of Indian subcontinent was ruled by provincial dynasties within the British Empire. The
    royal families patronized certain loyal households, which later bore the esteemed position of Amma veedu or the house of
    the matron. The social hierarchy had the landed gentry at the apex with the tenant farmers and peasants bringing up the
    rear. Brahmin’s as the priestly class held special privileges and the Nair families, which win their favors, were honored as Illam nairs. Illam being the designation of ancestral Brahmin households.
     

    The custom of marrying off cousins to each other was an age-old practice evolved to keep the ancestral property
    passing onto other hands through matrimony. This is still in vogue wherein the concerned are termed ‘muracherukkan’ or the ordained guy and ‘murappenuu’ or the ordained girl.

    2.Lingual juggling

    Communication depends on the responder’s ability- Not if you have an able translationist to aid
    you. Getting a skilled  translationist would do well to prevent language imposing barriers on your clientele.

    Variable
    Zweck
    Um mit offenen Unterpositionen flexible formulieren zu können, werden sie in Textbausteine (Variablen) aufgeteilt. Mit den Textbausteinen kann der Anwender die Leistungsbeschreibung objektspezifisch zusammenstellen.

    Charakteristik: Die zweistellige Variablennummer ist nur Anwahladresse des betr. Textbausteins ( s. Zifffer 5.36 ). Sie ist nicht Bestandteil der NPK – Nummer.  Es gibt vier Arten von Variablen.

    Erlauterung: Die vier Arten van Variablen”
    -die geschlossene Variable (im Bsp. die Variablen 02, 03, 05, 06, 08 und 09); sie ist unverändert zu übernehmen.
    -die offene Variable, mit pünktreihe endend (im Bsp. die Variablen 07 und 10);  sie muss mit Text ergänzt werden.

    -alternative Variablen (im Bsp. die Gruppe 02 und 03 mit dem Bucshstaben A, die Grupppe 05 bis 07 mit dem Buchstabem B und die Gruppe 08 bis 10 mit dem Buchstaben C ); die mit dem gleichen Buchstaben gekennezeichnete Variablen bilden eine sog. Alternativ-gruppe und schliessen sich gegenseitig aus.

    -die Überschreibvariable (im Bsp. 01,04 und 11); ihr Stichwort wird mit einer individuellen Texteingabe überschrieben (das stichwort ist im NPK- Heft rot gedrückt, es erscheint im LV nicht).
     

    		 Variable
    Objective: In order to flexibly formulate with open sub position, it will be divided in text module (variables). With the Text module, the user can summarize the object-specific work description.

    Characteristic:  The two-digit variable number is only chosen address of the concerned text module. (See number 5.36). It is not the part of the NPK number. There are four types of variables.

    Illustration:  The four types of variables
    -The closed variable (in the example the variables 02, 03,04,05,06,08 and 09); it is unalterable while adopting.
    -The open variable, ended with a series of dots (In the example the variables 07 and 10); it must be completed with text.
    -Alternative variables (in the example the group 02 and 03 with the alphabets A, the group 05 to 07 with the alphabet B and the group 8 to 10 with the alphabet C); which with the similar alphabet characterized variables, forms the so called Alternative groups and conclude mutually.
    -The overwrite variable (in the example 01,04 and 11); its keyword will be overwritten with an individual text input  (the key word is in the NPK text expressed with red color, it does not appear in the execution catalogue).

     
    Recordarten

    Der wesentliche informationsgehalt eines Leistungsverzeichnisses wird mit den Universalrecords der Recordart G ausgetauscht. Diese Recordart enthält physisch sämtliche Felder aller Entitätstypen eines Leistungsverzeichnisses (siehe Anhang B: Relationales Datenmodell).

    Daneben werden mit den B-Records auch dies in den Teil-mengen-Records verwendeten Sekundargliederung  (Objektgliederung, Kostenartengliederung, usw.) mit Bezeichnungen übertragen. Diese erlaubt dem Anwender die überprüfung, ob im empfangenen Dokument die Teilmengen mit den richtigen Gliederungsbedeutungen (‘Texten”) kontiert wurden.
     

    		  Record types 

    The essential information content of an execution catalogue will be exchanged with the universal records to the record type G. These record type comprises entire physical fields of all entity types of an execution catalogue. (See appendix B Relational data model)

    Thereby the B records, which will also make use of the 'part- quantity records' in the secondary structure, (object structure, cost type structure etc.)  carry with specification. This permits  the user to check if in the receiving document contains the position quantity with the correct structure texts.
     
    Sekundärgliederungen

    Übersicht

    Leistungspositionen können im meherere Telilmengen aufgeteilt  werden, die sich neben der Leistungsbeschreibung auf weitere Ordnungskriterien beziehen; letzere werden vor allem für die Kostenbeurteilung und-steuerung (Kostenmanagement) gebraucht.

    Das anologe gilt für Kostenkonti, wobei diese ohne Leistungspositon festgelegt sind.

    Es werden zwei Gruppen von Ordnungskriterien (“Sekundärgliederungen”) unterschieden:

    Die eigentlichen Mengengliederungskriterien und die Varianten. Jede ausgewiesene Teilmenge einer Leistungsposition ist in ihrer Bedeutung festzulegen, indem sie mit einer eindeutigen Kombination von Ordnungskriterien charakterisiert wird.

    Code (Fremdschlüssel)

    Die einzelnen Einträge eines Kriteriums werden durch einen Code, eine Bezeichnung und durch allenfalls weitere Informationen festgelegt. Der Code legt den Eintrag eindeutig fest; er kann zwei bedeutungen haben;

    - Ordnungscode (evtl. implizit hierarchisch strukturiert) oder
    -  Kurztext (“ sprechender Schlüssel”).

     

    		  Sekundargliederungen

    General idea

    Execution positions can be divided in to several component quantities, which withdraw on further classification criteria near to the work-description, the last will be needed for all for the cost estimation and (steuerung) cost management.

     

     
     
     

    The analogy is valid for the Kostenkonti, whereby these are determined without work position.

    It will distinguish two groups from classification criteria (secondary structure).

    The actual  Mengengliederungs criteria (quantity structure) and the variants. Every expelled Teilmenge of a Leistungsposition is determined in your meaning, in which you will characterize with a clear combination of classification criteria.

    Code (foreignkey):

    The individuel entries of a criteria will be determined through a code, a specification and any further information.
    The code set the entries clearly, it can have two meanings

    - order code (evlt implizit hierarchical structured) or

    - short note (“sprechender Schlussel”)
     

     
    Offene Unterposition ohne Unterpositions-Gruppe 
    und –Untergruppe

    Zweck
    Positionen, bei denen Anzahl, Individualität und Art der Parameter es nicht gestatten, die möglichen Ausfuhrungsvarianten mit festformulierten Texten (also mit geschlossenen Unterpositionen) zu beschreiben.

    Charakteristik
     Der Unterpositionsnummer ist kein fester Text zugeordnet, sie ist eine reine Ordnungsnummer. Daraus ergibt sich das Merkmal der offenen Unterposition: Sie beginnt auf Zeile 1 direkt mit der Variablen 01. Die Leistungsbeschreibung wird von Fall zu Fall individuell aud den Text bausteinen zusammengestellt (s. Ziffer 5.4). Die  textbausteine müssen z.T mit Text- oder mit numerischen Ergänzungen komplettiert oder überschrieben weden.

     

    		 Open sub position without sub positions groups and sub groups

    Objective: Positions, by its number individuality and the parameter type does not permit, to describe the possible work variables with the firmly formulated texts (i.e. with closed sub positions).

    Characteristic: The sub positions number is not associated with a fixed text, it is a clear serial number.  Hence it follows the indication feature of the open sub position. It begins on line 1 direct with the variables 01. The work description will be individually compiled, from case to case from the text module. (see Numbers 5.4). The text module must be partly with text or with numerical supplement, completed or overwritten.

    Nature in its infinite variety is visible in Kerala. The greenery all around is the first to strike any visitor. Flowers aplenty in every hue welcome you. Natural spectacles astound at every turn. Ravishing hill stations gorgeous scenic curves, bewitching cascades of varying might, wooded mountains, placid lakes, panoramic waterways, crescent beaches are some of the visual delights.  The abundance of palms adds to the attraction.
    The places vary from scenic interest to historical significance curves and shrines abound as fort and palaces each place has a story to tell- of its name, its position and its peoples. The legends coupled with the toil of the people make up the spot. The long history itself speaks for the age-old tradition of warm hospitality.
    The architecture of Kerala is  unique as the costumes, cuisine, health care and handicrafts. The construction of naturally conditioned houses almost wholly of wood was an architectural marvel. Even its direction was ascertained by the local knowledge of winds. The traditional costumes, which vary from each denomination and faith, had at its core, simplicity with comfort. The cuisine also wide ranging in its appeal kept in view the well being of the body. The holistic treatment through ‘Ayurveda’ has become synonymous with Kerala besides curing ailment; recuperation and rejuvenation are its major objectives through natural derivatives. The wood, stone, fiber or metal artistry of handicraftsmen her is exquisite and unrivalled.
    Kerala boasts of a wide array of performing and plastic arts. The classical Karnatic style is the dominant system of music, but distinct varieties as ‘Sopana’ and other reverential forms of music also flourish. The aesthetically colored ‘Theyyam’ performances the striking spectacle of ‘Garudan thookkam’- flight of the mystical eagle dazzle at dusk when the ‘Theevettes’ or multiple torches add luster to the get-up.
    Kathakali the face of Kerala to the world is the presentation of mythical episodes through verse drama in inimitable splendour. Solo performances are common like ‘Koothu’, which humorously blends myth with contemporancity and ‘Thullal’, which is the earthier form. The ‘Koodiyattam’ is a group performance on a grander scale.
    The genteel poised of ‘Mohiniyattom’- dame of the enchanters is another dance to marvel at. Besides, there are several other dances and lyrical renderings relating to the localized customs and the rites.
    The artistic wizardry of Keralite craftsmanship is further evidenced from the different ‘Kalmezhuthu’ or sketching mystic figures practiced throughout the state. The bold colors prepared from natural ingredients handed down through the ages trace the different deities with their varying attributes in all their glory. The performances include an initiation, invocation and offerings, all of which add to the visual delight.
    The fresco on the walls of temples and palaces reveal the long artistic tradition, which excelled in intricacy and vivid coloration that stands the test of time. The naturally derived dyes applied with the locally applied devices still retain their wondrous hues to date.
    The traditional year starts with  ‘Vishu’ when auspicious Tableaux are set up to make the coming year propitious. The celebration of prime importance is the harvest festival ‘Onam’, when every one relieves the halyoon days when equality prosperity goodwill prevailed. The floral decoration called 'Pookalam' and the grand feasts, which every family member partakes of, are the high points. Another unique event is the 'Vallom Kali' or rowing game. The long sleek ‘Chundan vallam’ -Snake boats skim over the water powered by more than hundred synchronized powerful paddlers to the rhythm of the ‘Vanchi pattu’.
    The 'Pooram' which features caparisoned elephants in droves with choicefully decorated parasols, ‘Muthukudas’ -, ornamental fans called ‘Alavattom’ and a fine as snow whisks called ‘Venchamaram’ to the lilting beat of ‘Pachavadhyam’ – the quintuplet of traditional musical instrument is worth the experience. Besides these the seasonal festivities car possessions 'Kettu kazhcha' ceremorial effigies ‘Urooz’.
    Besides the yearly observant as Christmas and Easter add to the show. Spectacular fireworks are another indivisible part of Kerala festival finale.

The compactness of the state makes trips between spots short and fast. Honestly, any stop can be taken, as a spot for the whole landscape is picturesque. You can avail of the faster browse from the roads, the laid back pleasant cruise through the backwaters or have a scan fork the air. Through historical monuments or religious sites, natural trails or cultural sights, the journey is smooth and relaxing. Take a mountainous trek, wade in a stream or take a short dip in the ocean. Try the tasty knick-knacks of the land, gourge up on the sumptuous meals or be bold on the spiced gourmets’ delights. Enjoy the colourful dance dramas or experience the powerful invocations encounter the harmony between man and nature the year round festivals. Relish the timelessness of practices and relive mystique. Give in to the enervating naturalistic regimen that sparkles with rejuvenation.
